‘Weekly Food Wins’ Twitter prize draw 2017

Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

  1. The free Twitter prize draw is run by North London Waste Authority (“NLWA” or “the Promoter”), through its Wise Up To Waste (WUTW) brand. The prize draw is free to enter and no payment is required.
  2. To be eligible for the free prize draw, you must be a resident of Great Britain in the north London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest and you must be over the age of 18. Employees of NLWA or its affiliates or any third party directly associated with the administration of the prize draw are not eligible to enter. Failure to comply with any part of these terms and conditions will disqualify the respective entry from the prize draw.
  3. The two winners will each receive £100 worth of supermarket vouchers of their choice (The “Prize”).
  4. The opening date for entries is 8am on 20 March 2017 and the closing date is 12pm on 2 April 2017 (UK time) (“Entry Period”). Entries received after this time will not be valid.
  5. One prize draw will be held weekly during the Entry Period and only one entry per person will be accepted during the Entry Period.
  6. Each entrant shall enter the prize draw via Twitter only, in the way of re-tweeting  tweets containing the hashtag #Weeklyfoodwins and ‘Following’ the @WiseUpToWaste Twitter account.
  7. One entrant on Twitter will be selected weekly during the Entry Period from all of the entrants who take part (there will be two winners in total) through a weekly prize draw. The first prize draw will take place at 11am on Monday 27 March and the second prize draw will take place at 11am on Monday 3 April 2017.
  8. NLWA shall contact each winner through a ‘direct message’ on Twitter to request that they reply with their name and an address in North London. A winner must provide valid proof of address (i.e a digital copy of their Council Tax bill or Driving license), to show that they are a resident of the Relevant North London Boroughs in order to claim their Prize. If the winner does not respond to NLWA by the end of 5 April 2017, then the winners Prize will be forfeited.
  9. Obscene or inappropriate entries as determined by NLWA at its sole discretion will not be accepted and NLWA reserve the right to reject any entries for any reason at its sole discretion.
  10. NLWA takes no responsibility for any entries which are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete or otherwise invalid.
  11. To the extent permitted by applicable law, NLWA’s liability under or in connection with the prize draw or these terms and conditions shall be limited to the value of the Prize in question.
  12. To the extent permitted by applicable law, NLWA shall not be liable under or in connection with these terms and conditions, the prize draw or any prize for any indirect, special or consequential cost, expense, loss or damage suffered by a participant even if such cost, expense, loss or damage was reasonably foreseeable or might reasonably have been contemplated by the participant and/or the Promoter and whether arising from breach of contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty or otherwise.
  13. Personal data obtained by NLWA from entrants will be processed in accordance with the DATA PROTECTION ACT 1998.
  14. Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable, and non-refundable and no cash alternative is offered. Where a Prize becomes unavailable for any reason, NLWA reserves the right to substitute that Prize for a Prize of equal or higher value.
  15. In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond NLWA’s reasonable control, NLWA reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the free prize draw or these terms and conditions, either in whole or in part, with or without notice.
  16. NLWA’s decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  17. Copyright and all intellectual property rights in all entries shall be owned by NLWA.
  18. Entrants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. By submitting an entry to the prize draw, entrants are deemed to have granted their consent to the disclosure of their twitter usernames and to the publicity related to the free prize draw in the manner provided in these terms and conditions in the event that they are selected as the winner of a prize draw.
  19. These terms and conditions and the prize draw are governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
