Success at North London Waste Prevention Exchange

123 delegates enjoyed this year’s North London Waste Prevention Exchange hosted by North London Waste Authority (NLWA). The event was held in Islington on Tuesday 16 February and its main theme focused on ‘From awareness raising to action’ – using waste prevention initiatives to inspire long term behaviour change. Attendees included Elected Members, officers from regional and local authorities, and regional and national third and private sector organisations.

NLWA cracks down on costly trade waste abuse

North London Waste Authority (NLWA) is cracking down on trade waste abuse at its north London reuse and recycling centres (RRCS). The cost of illegal use of the sites by some professional builders and landscapers costs is passed on to council tax payers; dealing with soil and rubble costs taxpayers more than £100,000 a year.

TV personality Linda Barker launches Reuse shop in Chingford

On Saturday 14 November, interior designer Linda Barker and Councillor Clyde Loakes, chair of North London Waste Authority (NLWA), officially opened ‘Second Time Around’ – a reuse shop located within the Kings Road Reuse and Recycling Centre in Chingford.
