North London Waste Prevention Fund inspires new approach to tackling waste

Jun 02, 2017
North London Waste Authority (NLWA) has established a Waste Prevention Community Fund to support waste prevention initiatives in the north London area.

The total amount available for 2017-18 is £40,000 and non-profit making organisations are invited to apply for grants relating to any north London community based initiative.

The aim of the Fund is to extend the reach and impact of waste prevention activity in north London by providing community-based organisations access to funding in order to develop new approaches to tackling waste prevention.

Successful applicants will receive up to 100% funding of project costs with support to be provided for both small (up to £1,000) and large projects (between £1,000 and £15,000) that tackle a waste prevention problem.

To be eligible for funding, proposed projects must take place in at least one of the seven north London boroughs and must reduce local authority collected waste arisings (waste collected by one or more of the north London boroughs). The closing date for applications is 16 June 2017 and proposed projects are expected to be completed by 17 December 2017.
